Clinical Training in Dance Movement Therapy

We regret to inform you that IDTIA will not be proceeding with
the Clinical Training in Dance Movement Therapy scheduled to begin in July 2025

There are not enough enrollments to make the program viable. We are deeply saddened that various factors, including the current economic climate, have made it difficult to run the Clinical Training program as advertised. However, as Dance Movement Therapists, we are committed to finding flexible and creative ways to support your interest and passion for Dance Movement Therapy and we greatly appreciate your interest in pursuing a career in Dance Movement Therapy.

To support your interest, we will be offering professional development workshops. These workshops will include experiential components and the option of a theoretical component. Completion of the experiential and theoretical components of each workshop, will be credited towards an IDTIA clinical qualification in Dance Movement Therapy and will be available as CPD for professionals in complementary fields.

We are currently developing these professional development opportunities and will share dates and topics with you soon. Most of these workshops will be held online, with some offered in-person.

In the meantime, we encourage you to join our monthly online sessions: ‘Conversations’ on the first Monday of the month and ‘Dance and Move’ on the third Monday of the month, both from 6:30–7:30pm (Melbourne time). These sessions, led by experienced Dance Movement Therapists and allied professionals, will give you valuable Dance Movement Therapy experiences. Details are sent out in our newsletter, and you can subscribe here if you haven’t already: https://www.idtia.org.au/join-our-mailing-list/
